Safe Kids Saturday

Our annual Safe Kids Saturday, held the second Saturday in May, brings together kids and fun, while teaching them important safety messages.

Held on the Kadlec campus, the annual family safety fair brings together more than 30 community agencies and 200 volunteers to share important safety messages for parents and children.

Each year, an estimated 3,500 attend.

The event features a children's bike rodeo, car seat safety checks and bike helmet fittings. There are fire trucks and an emergency helicopter for kids to see. The children can go through a life safety house to learn how to escape the home safely in the event of a fire. Hands-on activities and information are available on water safety, poison prevention, substance abuse, early childhood development and much more.

Children can be photographed, weighed, measured and fingerprinted for important family records. It is estimated that photos of over 7,000 children have been taken during the first nine years of Safe Kids Saturday.

Throughout the day there are drawings and prizes.
