Our Health & Nutrition Classes Include:

Diabetes Support Group: The Diabetes Support Group is a free community diabetes education program facilitated by the Diabetes Learning Center staff.  The topics include a broad range of interest areas to the diagnosed diabetic individual and support person/care partner interested in learning more about management of this chronic disease.  Programs feature medical professional guest speakers and interactive education experiences.  This group meets every 3rd Wednesday of every month from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Call 942-2620 to make reservations and get location information.

Diabetes Education: Our Diabetes Learning Center's Certified Diabetes Educators provide comprehensive diabetes education, by physician referral, to individuals who would like to learn the self-management skills necessary for good health. Instruction is tailored to meet the needs of each person: Blood glucose meter use, individualized meal planning and medication education are provided. Advanced counseling concerning insulin self-adjustment or insulin pump therapy are addressed as necessary. Most insurances will reimburse the cost of this service. Nutrition Counseling: A Registered Dietitian provides one-to-one counseling for a broad range of health services in a caring, helpful environment. A physician referral is recommended. Healthy Ages: Healthy Ages is FREE membership for anyone 50 and older. You can receive discounts, attend monthly education programs or have help organizing medical bills and filing claims. All are free of charge. For information, call (509) 942-2700.
