phone: (509) 942-2022 Mr. Wortman has been the CEO of Kadlec Health System since November 2000 and is an employee of Quorum Health Resources, but reports directly to the Kadlec Health System Board. Immediately prior to Kadlec, he served briefly as interim COO for an Alaskan Native health care corporation in Bethel Alaska. From 1997 to 2000 he served in multiple capacities at Bay Medical Center, a 433 bed facility in Panama City, Florida, culminating in the position of COO. He was a Partner at Labor Productivity Management Services (1995-1997), a consulting firm specializing in the development of staffing standards and staffing systems for hospitals. Mr. Wortman has held numerous positions in hospital administration from 1976 to 1993 including CEO positions at five hospitals. His CEO experience includes for profit hospitals, community hospitals, Catholic hospitals, private not for profit hospitals ranging from 45 beds to 280 beds. In the for profit sector he served as a regional director with responsibility for six acute care hospitals. Mr. Wortman has a B.S. in Business Economics from Wright State University and a M.A. in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Iowa. Mr Wortman is also CEO of other Kadlec affiliated companies; Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Kadlec Clinic, LLC, Kadlec Medical Associates, LLC, Kadlec Neuroscience Center, Tri-Cities Nephrology, LLC, Kadlec Neurological Resource Center, Kadlec Enterprises and the Kadlec Medical Center Foundation. He serves on the boards of directors of United Way, Tri-Cities Cancer Center, Tri-Cities Regional Surgery Center and Tri-Cities Home Health LLC. Mr. Wortman is involved in other health care related organizations in the Tri-Cities including the Community Health Alliance. He also is a board member of TRIDEC, the Tri-Cities Economic Development Council.
phone: (509) 942-2709 Mr. Savitch has been the President of the Medical Center since the position was established in December 2006. He was previously the interim Chief Operating Officer of the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Prior to that, he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Ballard Campus of Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, Senior Executive Director of Stevens Healthcare in Edmonds, Washington and Assistant Administrator then Administrator/CEO of Valley General Hospital in Monroe, Washington. Mr. Savitch has a B.S. in Biology/Chemistry from Western Washington University and a M.A. in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Savitch is a member of the board of directors of Tri-Cities Home Health LLC, Benton-Franklin Community Health Alliance and the Mid-Columbia Division of the March of Dimes. Mr. Savitch is a past member of the Washington State Hospital Association Board of Trustees, past President of the Association of Washington Public Hospital Districts, past President of the Northwest Washington Hospital Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Western Healthcare Insurance Trust and on the board of Washington Hospital Services.
phone: (509) 942-2703 Mr. Clark was appointed to his current position in 1988. Additional responsibilities for Strategic and Business Planning were added in 2008. Previously, he was Director of Marketing/Human Resources for Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho, and Personnel Supervisor for Coopers & Lybrand in Seattle. He has a B.A. in Social Science from John Wesley College in Owosso, Michigan, and a M.A. in Counseling from Seattle Pacific University. Mr. Clark is on the Boards of Grace Clinic, and the Western Healthcare Insurance Trust. He is a former Chair of the Legislative and Labor Committee and former Board Member (ex-officio) of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resource Administration, past Board member and President of the Washington Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administrators and former member of the Board of the Society for Human Resources Management, Columbia Basin Chapter. In addition, Mr. Clark served six years as adjunct faculty in the School of Business, Washington State University-Tri-Cities.

Previously, she served as Controller (1983-1989), Assistant Controller (1981-1983) and Staff and Senior Accountant (1977-1981) of the Medical Center. Ms. Meek has a B.S. in Accounting from Central Washington University and a M.B.A. from Washington State University. She is a member of the board of the Tri-Cities Laboratory LLC and Tri-City Home Health LLC and past board member and president of the Washington-Alaska Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association from which she won the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, Muncie Gold awards and the Founders Medal of Honor. She also served as Regional Executive for Region 11 of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Ms. Meek is treasurer for the Tri-City Industry Kiwanis Foundation and board member of the Kiwanis Club of Tri-City Industry.
phone: (509) 942-2696 Mr. Roach was appointed to his current position in August 1997. Previously, he was Director of Information Systems for St Francis Hospital & Health Center in Illinois. He has 35 years of technical and management experience in healthcare. Mr. Roach has worked as a National Service Manager for a US distributor of healthcare equipment and as a Project Engineer for Underwriters Laboratories. Mr. Roach directs the activities of nearly 100 staff in 7 functional areas with a combined budget of nearly $20M. His departmental areas of responsibility include Information Systems, Clinical Information Systems, Ambulatory Information Systems, Physician Support, Health Information Management, Telecommunications and Clinical Engineering. Mr. Roach serves as a member of the Washington State STEM Education Foundation. Mr. Roach has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, with a major in Computer Science, and is recognized as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) and a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE).

Prior to joining Kadlec, he was Vice President, Physician Services for Quorum Health Resources, LLC, Vice President, Physician Services for Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation and Chief Development Officer for Fort Sanders Health Systems/Fort Sanders Physician Group. Mr. Wingo has held numerous other health care and non-health care positions from 1971-1995. phone: (509) 942-2205 Mr. Christensen has been the Vice President, Resource Development at the Medical Center and Executive Director of the Kadlec Foundation since December 2004. Previously, he has served in various positions in the food storage and warehousing industries. Mr. Christensen received a B.A. in History and Education from Washington State University. Mr. Christensen was a member of the Medical Center Board of Directors 2000-2004 and served as the Planning and Marketing Committee Chair in 2003-2004. He was a member of the Pasco Kennewick Rotary Club and served as Club President, Assistant District Governor and was in charge of Rotary’s major fundraiser for three years. Mr. Christensen served on the Board of Directors at Meadow Springs Country Club for three years and is the immediate Past President of the Club. His career at Kadlec is highlighted by his participation and leadership in the Kadlec 4 Kids Campaign that raised $7.4 M in the community to fund the recently opened Don & Lori Watts Pediatric Center on the fifth floor of the River Pavilion.

Previously, he served as the Director of Acute Care Services (2006-2009), Unit Manager of the Short Stay Unit and Surgical Floor (1998-2002). Mr. Harper received his ADN from Columbia Basin Community College (1998), BSN from Washington State University (2000-2001) and MBA in Health Care Management from University of Phoenix (2002-2004). In addition, Mr. Harper is Board Certified in Nursing Administration from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
phone: (509) 946-3089 Mr. Baker joined Kadlec Health System in 2006 to oversee a number of projects designed to advance the development of an integrated system of care and has served as Vice President, Regional Business Development since March, 2009. He previously served as a hospital CEO in Montana, Michigan and California with HCA prior to becoming the Group Vice President responsibility for the Western States operations of HCA Management Company and its successor, QHR, a position he held for 19 years. Responsibilities included all management contracts and consulting services provided to City, County, District and non-profit community. He has consulted with tertiary teaching hospitals and faculty practice plans in Portugal and Saudi Arabia in addition to overseeing multi-year consulting assignments at UC Davis, Oregon Health Sciences University and Stanford University Medical Centers. Mr. Baker previously served five years as an adjunct faculty member of Chapman University in California, teaching in the graduate program in healthcare administration. Mr. Baker holds a BA in Asian Studies from the Center for Asian Studies, San Diego State University and a Masters in Health Care Administration from The George Washington University in Washington D.C. He has served on numerous boards and presently serves as a Commissioner, Chair of the Finance Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS), an organization that provides five-year general surgical residency programs in African Hospitals for graduates of African medical schools. Don Miksch was raised in Vancouver, Washington. He is a proud Husky who has a B.A. from the University of Washington, and also attended their Graduate School of Social Work. In 1995, Don retired after 16 years as the Founder and President of Rep-West, a manufacturing sales representative business. He has vast experience in marketing and sales. Don is a licensed massage therapist in the state of Washington. He specializes in on-site and in-home massages, with special attention to victims of automobile accidents. Don is very active in Rotary International, Tri-Cities Sunrise Chapter and has participated in Rotary International’s effort to eradicate polio in Ethiopia in 2002 and India in 2004. He is also and active skier, sailor and traveler. Don has served on KNRC’s board since 2007. Don assists his lovely wife, Linda Moran, with the marketing, promotion and sale of an educational video program that she developed.
Pam Knutson was born and raised in Montana and spent three years at Montana State University before getting married. She was fortunate to have been able to spend the next twelve years at home with her children before going back to school and earning a B.S. Degree in elementary education from the College of Great Falls. The next few summers were spent working toward a K-12 library science endorsement from Western Montana College. After teaching six years, her family moved to Washington in 1992 where she received her Master’s Degree from Heritage College in 1998. Since 1993 to the present, she has been a teacher/library media specialist in the Richland School District. Her experience has given her the opportunity to mentor new librarians in the district as well as open two new libraries, one at Wiley Elementary in West Richland and the other in a school in Hashil, a village in Bangladesh. Pam has been on KNRC’s board since 2007. She and her husband, Ken, have three adult children, two daughters, both living in Oregon and a son in the United States Marine Corps.
Jeff Stevey was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. He has a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduation he was commissioned in the Air Force and spent 5 years as an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Launch officer in Great Falls, Montana. While in the Air Force, he completed a Masters degree in Management. Upon separation from the Air Force in 1999, he had the good fortune of being hired by Pfizer Inc and better fortune for being placed in the Tri-Cities area. During his time with Pfizer, he has promoted medication for a multitude of diseases, but those that have touched him the most have been neurological disorders. Jeff has dedicated his personal and professional life to understanding neurological disorders and offering whatever assistance he is capable of to improve diagnosis, treatment and understanding of the disorders to both medical professionals and the community at large. He and his wife are currently living in Spokane, WA where Jeff works for Genentech. He has been on KNRC’s board since 2006. Terry received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Spanish from Niagara University, New York, in 1976; her Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences from Whitworth College, Washington, in 1982; and her multiple-subject teaching credential from St. Mary’s College, California, in 1994. Terry has nearly thirty years experience in various leadership, management and consulting positions in government and private industry involving organizational development, management and information systems, education and administration, facilitation and systems change. During the last 15 years she has focused on education, family systems and parenting programs, childcare and early childhood development, and the integration of community health care and human services for regional families. She is a college professor and trained facilitator on current neuroscience research and its application to learning and performance with a strong interest in education and health care reform. She has served on KNRC’s board since 2008. Marilyn brings a wide variety of skills and experience to us through her 19 years at Hanford performing such duties as Total Quality Management Program Administrator, Communications Coordinator, and Public Relations Liaison. While at Hanford, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business, along with a Master of Science in Project Management. Marilyn is currently the Senior Advocate for the City of Richland, a position which she finds both challenging and rewarding. Marilyn has served on KNRC’s board since 2007. Along with her husband Jim, Marilyn operates River Meadow Farm located outside of Richland near the Yakima River. The farm is a park-like haven for their 17 Arabian horses, and a variety of dogs. Marilyn enjoys competing in shows and although she rides both Western and English, she specializes in Dressage. While her animals are great fun, time with her husband, three children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren is what she values most. De Martucci became a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas with psychiatric training at the John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. She and her family arrived in the Tri-Cities in July of 1978. De was employed for over twenty years at Lourdes Counseling Center. She became an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in 1983 and began her private consulting practice in 1991 with Consulting Solutions. In 1999 she retired from Lourdes and retired as a Geriatric ARNP in December 2007, but remains certified in Geriatric Mental Health specializing in Alzheimer’s and mental health. De served on the advisory board for Aging and Long Term Care in Benton and Franklin Counties, and on the board of The Emmaus Christian Counseling Center. In her continuing professional consulting services, she is a consultant for Aging and Long Term Care (ALTC) of Benton and Franklin Counties, and has taught “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” for the past ten years in the Tri-City area. She also facilitates caregiver support groups and Alzheimer’s groups throughout the region. De has served on KNRC’s board since 2000. Statement of Purpose: In 1984 I started a caregiver’s support group because our family was devastated when my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. I continue to contribute to KNRC Board because I have deep compassion and a great desire to use every avenue to reach people in need of support and services in their caregiving roles and those with neurological disorders. Jodi Melland has worked for Battelle at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since 1992. In her current role, Jodi manages strategic marketing projects for PNNL’s Energy and Environment market sectors. She also consults scientific staff and management on their presentations—from content and slide development to delivery. Before coming to Battelle, she was a communications specialist and graphic designer for local businesses. Jodi enjoys volunteering in the community, tackling remodeling projects, and reading up on topics such as marketing, business, relationship management, and neurological disorder publications. After seven years of providing foster care to teens, she and her husband, Duane, adopted two of their three children through the Washington State Foster Adopt Program. These children both have multiple neurological disorders. Jodi has served on KNRC’s board since 2007.

Larry Christensen was born, raised and educated in Richland and Walla Walla. He received a BA degree from Washington State University in 1970 in History & Education. He spent 34 years in the frozen food distribution business living in Portland, OR, Bettendorf, IA, Watsonville, CA and has been in the Tri Cities since 1980. He came to work for Kadlec Regional Medical Center in December of 2004 as VP Resource Development, Executive Director of the Foundation for KRMC. His current duties include oversight of Kadlec Neurological Resource Center. He and his wife, Kathi, have three grown daughters and four granddaughters.
Al Wichtendahl was born and raised in Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa before graduating from Weber State University with a BS degree in Healthcare Administration. Al previously worked as a Radiologic Technologist and Radiology manager in north Idaho, and later moved to Spokane where he completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Gonzaga University. He worked as the Radiology Director for Holy Family Hospital in Spokane for several years before leaving to pursue physician practice management. In January of 2009 Al accepted the position of Executive Director of Kadlec Neuroscience Center and joined the Board of KNRC shortly thereafter. Al and his wife Kathy have two children.
